At your eye examination we usually examine your visual fields. This is the extent of your vision out to the sides and top to bottom. Many conditions can affect your visual fields.

This test is quick but has a high sensitivity and specificity in the detection of early glaucomatous damage and can indicate other disorders caused by ocular, retinal, neurological or neuro-ophthalmological problems.

If there are any significant findings, your optometrist may also advise that you have a more detailed visual field test on the Humphrey Visual Field Analyser.
