Connan Tam first qualified as an Orthoptist in 2004 at Liverpool University. He started working for Worthing and Southlands NHS trust then at Great Ormond Street for Children. He then furthered his career completing his second Bachelors degree in optometry at City University in 2009. He won the Greatest Aptitude with Children prize.

With his dual qualification in optics, Connan took on several roles including paediatric eye care at Hillingdon hospital, glaucoma practitioner and specialist contact lens practitioner at St Thomas Hospital of London, teaching of paediatric optometry, binocular vision and Visual Stress Assessment at City University. He also worked alongside several top paediatric consultant Ophthalmologists in their private clinics.

In 2013, Connan started his own clinic in Harley Street as a specialist optometrist/orthoptist as well as specialising in paediatric eye care and contact lens fitting. Several times a year, Connan visits several independent schools to provide vision screening for 4-5 year olds.

Connan was invited to join Burnett Hodd in 2014 and a year later became a partner in the business, merging his Harley Street clinic patients to the practice. His expertise in binocular vision has helped to expand the specialism of the practice.
