Practice is open as usual during new restrictions

Dear Patients,

We hope that you are well and coping in these difficult times.

Further to the announcement that England will be entering a new lockdown from Thursday 5th November, we wanted to inform you that we will remain open as usual. The government advice is to carry on with medical appointments so there is no restriction on travelling to and from the practice. We will continue to be available for your eye examinations, spectacles, contact lenses, visual fields, dry eye and all of our other services.

We can still be reached by phone and email for all your appointment queries and contact lens orders.

As you know, we have implemented strict hygiene and social distancing rules in the practice. We are limiting the number of people in the building at any one time and we now have a large waiting room to help keep everyone separate.

All of our staff are wearing masks. Optometrists are wearing full PPE, technicians and dispensing opticians are wearing masks, gloves and face shields.

In between each eye examination the rooms and equipment are thoroughly cleaned with anti-viral cleaner. All of our spectacle frames are sterilised with a UV-C germicidal lamp.

When you arrive, we will take your temperature and ask you to clean your hands with hand sanitiser. We also ask that you wear a mask while on the premises – unless you have a medical reason not to.

Obviously, please don’t attend the practice if you are feeling unwell. Just let us know and we will reschedule your appointment.

There is metered parking in Devonshire Street but also a little car park in the little mews street right next door to the practice.

Due to the lockdown and the fact that we are limiting the number of patients we see a day, we are quite booked up, so if you want to come we advise you to book in as soon as possible.

Your health is our priority and we will continue to do whatever we can to keep you safe when you visit us.

If you would like to book an appointment, then please email

If you would like to book an appointment at the Dry Eye Centre then please email

We are looking forward to seeing you all.
