Shireen currently involved in glaucoma research and complex contact lens fitting at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital
Shireen graduated with first class honours degree in Optometry at Aston University in 2014, Shireen went on to work in primary care in various opticians while specialising in glaucoma. She obtained a Professional Certificate in Glaucoma from City, University of London. She additionally qualified as an Independent Prescriber (DipTpIP).
Two years after qualifying, she found interest in Medical Retinal eye care and developed specialism in diabetic retinopathy and maculopathy. Shireen also took on an exciting role within the glaucoma research at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.
Working alongside the specialist corneal clinics at St Thomas’, Shireen also developed a passion for specialist contact lens fitting. She gained experience in fitting patients with an array of complex eye conditions from keratoconus to corneal grafts and corneal ectasias.
