Specialising in glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), newly appointed Nicola Wood brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the practice.
Nicola has over 10 years experience of refractive and cataract surgery, and has worked alongside a large number of consultant ophthalmologists specialising in diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Nicola graduated from City University in 2002 with a First Class Honors degree. She went on to win the Presidents prize for the highest aggregate mark in the College of Optometrists professional qualifying exams. She completed her Independent Prescribing diploma at Glasgow Caladonian University and previously worked at Kingston Hospital in a glaucoma clinic and eye casualty.
She also worked with one of the UK’s leading retinal consultants on Harley Street, and has been involved in several research projects including the latest treatments for dry AMD. She also speaks regularly at training events for optometrists and GPs.
